Upal Sengupta

Founder member of the band, composer, lead singer and an occasional guitarist, he is a renowned graphic artist of his time, loves cartooning, designs the inlays of the band’s albums. A regular cartoonist at Anandabajar Patrika now. His love for music can be seen in many projects that he takes on to mentor young upcoming musicians. One such project of live music show called “Gaan Abahoman” has obtained critical acclaim.

Anindya Chatterjee

Lyricist, composer and singer

– his confidence, style and fine sense of humor makes him the natural spokesperson of the band. Directing a very successful Bangla feature films (Open Tee Bioscope, Projapoti Biskut), editor of popular Sunday edition of Dainik Pratidin newspaper, anchoring many television shows – Anindya has several feathers to his cap.

Chandril Bhattacharya

Lyricist, composer and singer

– his breathtaking eloquence and brilliant wit mesmerizes all. A film graduate, he has directed a short film ‘Y2K’ and a popular television program – Icon Baicon. His satirical writing has been well published through several books. One of the key editors at Anadabajar Patrika.

Surojit Mukherjee

Composer singer and lead guitarist of the band

– his forte is music arrangement in a contemporary style. On stage, his presence and timely supervisions makes a concert perfect.

Arup Podder

On the bass, sees to all the nitty-gritty’s of the band management. Also takes care of the finances of the band – Chandrabindoo

Rajshekhar Kundu

Drummer and percussionist, has several recordings to his credit.

Shibabrata Biswas

Keyboardist, his talent has earned him experiences of working with famous singers of international repute.

Lipilekha Bangla Association (LBA) is a registered, not-for-profit community organization. It is organized exclusively for the promotion of charitable, cultural and educational ends.
The specific purposes are geared towards:
(a) promotion of Bengali language and culture;
(b) supplemental instruction of Bengali (language and culture) to children;
(c) humanitarian aid to disadvantaged children and elderly people of West Bengal, India as well as to those in our local community in and around New York State.
